Job Description
Space Systems Integration (SSI) is a fastgrowing engineering company that provides aerospace solutions to a variety of government and commercial customers. Our employees are forwardthinking selfdirected individuals who are committed to solving our customers technical challenges.
SSI is seekinga Principal Budget Analystfor a role in Colorado Springs CO.
Role and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain organizational financial databases.
Coordinate financial issues tasks and requests for senior leader decisions and information briefings.
Record program commitments obligations and expenditures in accordance with DoD benchmarks and provide quarterly reports.
Assist the Business Financial Manager in managing contract actions.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate and attend financial management meetings training sessions database briefings and software changes or updates.
Participate in budget queries.
Prepare financial status reports.
Perform budget and administration work involving monitoring current year and prior year obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of budgets.
Perform budget formulation work involving the preparation of detailed analyses and estimates of funding needs for one or more budget years.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors and 9 years or more of related experience within financial management of major programs or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have an inscope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI) be adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
- Experience in the DoD Planning Programming Budgeting and (PPBE) process and the DoD Planning Programming and Budgeting Systems (PPBS).
- Knowledge of Program Objective Memorandum (POM) Future Year Defense Plan (FYDP) Defense Guidance and Joint Strategic Planning Systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods practices procedures regulations policies and processes.
- Skill in gathering assembling and analyzing factual information such as in accounting reports payroll records work reports or inventory and supply data.
- Advanced skills with MS Office tools particularly MS Excel.
- Travel is 10 of the time.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in business management technical management and/or engineering.
- Professional certifications (e.g. PMI PMP).
- Experience in the National Security Space and or the Space Control mission area.
SSI has a target salary range:$120000 $160000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
