Performs STAT and routine histological procedures (preparation processing and/or staining of patient tissues) prior to the microscopic study and diagnosis by the Pathologist and/or Dermatopathologist. Interacts with physicians nurses and other allied health individuals in a manner which is helpful in understanding test availability for the department. Performs immunohistochemical immunofluorescence special stain electron microscopy and frozen section studies. Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) and Digital Imaging experience as the position requires. Helps to problemsolve cases for Pathologists and other staff members as needed.

Qualifications:
Associates degree and/or bachelors degree (Biology/Science related degree) required. One year of experience preferred. Must have completed an accredited Histology training program.
Working knowledge of the methods instrumentation and principles of all routine immunohistochemistry immunofluorescence special stain electron microscopy and frozen section procedures is required.
Additional Qualifications:
Must be able to work irregular hours (rotating shifts) and evenings upon occasion.
License or Certifications:
Clinical Laboratory Technologist (specialty Histology) Florida licensure HT (ASCP) and/or HTL (ASCP) national certification
Valid Florida Drivers License to be able to cover frozen section and on call transplant procedures.
