JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE:SpeechLanguage Pathologist
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Plan and provide speechlanguage pathology services to students with
speech voice or language disorders. Assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with their students ability to derive full benefitfrom the educational program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification
1 Masters degree in speechlanguage pathology from an accredited college or university
2 Valid Texas license as a speechlanguage pathologist granted byThe State Board of Examiners for SpeechLanguage Pathology andAudiology (SBESLPA)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1 Ability to use the accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions
2 Knowledge of evaluation habilitation and rehabilitation of speechlanguage disorders and conditions
3 Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
4 Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
REPORTS TO: Building principals and through them to the Superintendent of Schools

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Regular district wide travel to multiple worklocations as assigned; moderate lifting and carrying. May be required to lift andtransfer students to and from wheelchair or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Pay scale and classification will not be less that the minimumcompensation plan for the Pleasant Grove I.S.D. This positioncovers a period of ten months.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordancewith provisions of the Boards procedures on evaluation of personnel.
Full-Time
