We are hiring seasonal positions in the following locations with anticipated dates of April 28 2025 through October 3 2025:

Klamath Falls
Ontario
Umatilla
Brookings
We are also hiring a Limited Duration position in Ontario with the anticipated date of April 28 2025 through September 12 2025.
For the Limited Duration positions only: We will also consider a Job Rotation for current regular status employees of the State of Oregon in good standing in a permanent or limited durationposition (not temporary or seasonal) that is expected to continue through at least September 12 2025. As a Fish and Wildlife Technician (Aquatic Invasive Species Technician) you will inspect watercraft at key locations around the state in an effort to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species and to participate in outreach and education efforts to inform the general public about the impacts of aquatic invasive species on Oregons fish and wildlife and their habitats. Duties include:
Inspect all watercraft entering Oregon at designated locations throughout the state for freshwater invasive mussels (ex. quagga zebra and golden mussels) and other aquatic invasive species
Use watercraft inspections as an education and outreach opportunity to inform members of the public about aquatic invasive species and their ecological and economic impacts
Disseminate information about aquatic invasive species and proper ways to clean or decontaminate watercraft at various public venues

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications
Fish and Wildlife Technician $3705 $5066:
An Associates degree in Fisheries Technology Aquaculture Aquarium Science Wildlife Technology or Agriculture;
OR
Eighteen months of fisheries experience care of livestock agricultural research and experimentation monitoring game or wildlife or farming.
Equivalency Notes:
A higherlevel degree in Fisheries Wildlife Science or a closelyrelated degree with at least 45 quarter 30 semester) hours of biological/ecological coursework will substitute for the Associates degree.
Fish and Wildlife Technician Entry Option $3429 $4207:
Minimum qualifications are not established for this classification (there are no minimum qualifications). Previous related experience is desirable.

Experience performing inspections
Completed watercraft inspection courses
Proficient in identifying fish mussels and aquatic plants
Experience performing minor maintenance on equipment
Experience in utilizing computer databases for data entry
Customer service experience
