SUMMARY: The expectations of this position is to lead and direct a team of Pedigree complex personnel to achieve R D genetic program targets and commercial pipeline objectives. The essential functions of this position are as follows: achieve R D genetic progress objectives; achieve commercial pipeline objectives; achieve Biosecurity and animal welfare objectives; have and develop qualified and effective team members in all positions; have a culture of safety in all departments; and maintain genetic security and integrity; and develop and manage capital and operational budgets.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional field normally acquired through four 4 years of college resulting in a Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Seven plus years of poultry managementrelated experience.
Computer Skills: Standard skills are required. This position requires working with Excel spreadsheets and data within several other computer applications.
Physical Requirements: Safe lifting techniques must be used. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: The team member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecure environment that requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the work day. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species chickens ducks and birds. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Must be willing to follow the guidelines in the Biosecurity Standards.
Supervisory: Manages seven 7 direct salaried positions and one 1 indirect salaried position and four 4 indirect management support positions as well as ninetyfive 95 plus hourly team members.
Travel: 2 to 3 trips per year
