Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): Assist UB staff with communicating with UB families/parents/guardians and community members in a language other than English.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- With guidance from UB Staff make phone calls to families on behalf of Upward Bound staff.
- Translate verbal conversations in person or via Zoom.
- Attend Upward Bound events to connect with the Upward Bound families.
- Communicate with the TRIO Tutor Coordinator or other UB fulltime staff on a regular basis.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
- Ability to establish rapport with students and families from diverse multicultural backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and complete duties as assigned inperson or on Zoom
- Ability to develop good rapport with school counselors teachers and TRIO Advisors
- Fluent in language (spoken and written)
- Experience translating
