Job Description
Optometrist Opportunity – Northern California’s Capital Region
We’re recruiting a passionate and skilled Optometrist to join a growing practice in Northern California’s capital region. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments.
- Diagnose and manage ocular disease including glaucoma macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses contact lenses and specialty lenses.
- Educate patients on preventive eye care and treatment options.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comanagement and referrals.
- Maintain detailed documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Stay current with evolving trends in optometry and patient care technologies.
What We’re Looking For
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited school
- Active California optometry license
- Strong foundation in primary care and medical optometry
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient communication skills
- Teamoriented and focused on delivering patientfirst care
- Organized and detailoriented with solid EHR proficiency
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with pediatric or geriatric care or specialty contact lens fitting
- Proficiency with OCT fundus photography visual field testing and other diagnostic tools
- Bilingual skills are a plus in serving Sacramento’s diverse patient population
- Prior experience in an optical dispensary or retail setting is helpful
