Job Description

Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:
April 21 May 9: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume)
Early May Mid June: First round video interviews
Mid June Mid July: Second round interviews
Throughout July: Selected candidates receive offers
Academic Year Internship Program:

- Program Dates: September 15 2025 April 17 2026
- Time Commitment: 1624 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Operations & Technology: (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow $1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production Content Supply Chain Information Technology and Engineering as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world including New York New Jersey Los Angeles Denver Connecticut and London.
Areas of placement may include but are not limited to:
UX Research Architecture & Design: Our UX team supports product design across multiple business functions including Content Supply Chain Tech Foundation and Corporate Core. The UX Research intern will receive exposure to design operations at an enterprisescale including UX processes & design workflows. This role does not involve consumerfacing applications or consumer research.
Qualifications :
Basic Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a degreegranting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026. December 2025 graduates are not eligible for ourAcademic Year Internship Program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above 30 credits).
- Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future toretain authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be available to work 1624 hours per week from September 15 2025 April 17 2026.
- Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.
For further clarification candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F1 CPT F1 OPT J1 M1 are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an EVerify company requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Working knowledge of FigJam; basic knowledge of Figma.
- Experience with UX research methodologies and data analytics.
- Familiarity with design systems especially Material Design is a big plus.
- Basic knowledge of Accessibility a plus.
- A portfolio of case studies including research projects and writing samples (please include link in application).
- Enrolled in an academic program with a focus on UX Research Human Computer Interaction or equivalent field.
The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00.
The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $30.00.
