Opal Australian Paper is an industryleading paper and packaging business. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Process Engineer (Power & Recovery) to join us at the historic Maryvale paper mill!
The key focus of this role will be to:
- Provide sound technical advice and support whilst working in a team environment with production engineering and maintenance personnel
- Identify opportunities for improvement & scoping the projects involved with key focusses on areas such as cost saving improving efficiency environmental impacts and safety
- Implementing the improvements and (where applicable) reviewing data to measure effectiveness of the solution used
- Perform root cause analysis on relevant systems & procedures
- Collaborating with internal teams (such as operators & maintenance teams) to assist in the identification and implementation of improvements

For this role we would ideally like you to have:
- A Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (this is required)
- Experience identifying and implementing improvements across industrial sites
- Strong twoway communication skills ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A process focussed mindset & the ability to work autonomously
- Experience in using PARCview (or similar data analysis tools/ systems) to identify trends
- A continuous improvement and safetycentric mindset
- Intermediate (or above) Microsoft Excel skills
