The Role:Patient Access Representative
Hours: 6:30A3P Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking a Patient Access Services Representative to perform financial clearance registration and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions. As a Patient Access Rep you will get to interact with patients frequently; greeting them and their families checking them in for services and ensuring information is readily available for clinical staff.

The Work:
- Performs financial clearance registration and clerical duties associated with pointofservice (POS) services
- Meets with patient or patients caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Explains the process and addresses concerns and questions
- Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement
- Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorizationand ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments including copays deductibles and coinsurance or refers to financial counselors for follow up
- Ensures that all necessary demographic billing and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
You Have:
- Relevant customer service experience
- Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
- 1 year of patient registration scheduling or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
