The Role:Patient Access Representative

Hours: 6:30A3P Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking a Patient Access Services Representative to perform financial clearance registration and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions. As a Patient Access Rep you will get to interact with patients frequently; greeting them and their families checking them in for services and ensuring information is readily available for clinical staff.

The Opportunity:

MaineGeneral Health has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of Patient Access Representative MGH we believe in a team atmosphere where there is room to learn and grow within the department as well as the organization!

The Work:

  • Performs financial clearance registration and clerical duties associated with pointofservice (POS) services
  • Meets with patient or patients caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Explains the process and addresses concerns and questions
  • Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorizationand ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments including copays deductibles and coinsurance or refers to financial counselors for follow up
  • Ensures that all necessary demographic billing and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy

You Have:

  • Relevant customer service experience
  • Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
  • 1 year of patient registration scheduling or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
