About the Role

Are you a qualified Mechanical Tradesperson hold a tertiary qualification in drafting or have demonstrated experience as a Design Drafter Join Hastings Deering one of the worlds leading Caterpillar dealers in this exciting opportunity to put your skills to work!

We are currently searching for 2x 12month fixedterm Design Drafters to join our Engineering team. In these integral roles you will be responsible for developing highquality designs assembly drawings and supporting manufacturing documentation. You will also apply your technical expertise to investigate design issues and recommend innovative engineering solutions for CAT equipment.

These are fulltime opportunities located in our Archerfield office.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design a diverse range of mechanical solutions alongside our customers.
  • Collaborate with workshop teams to assist with delivery of customer solutions.
  • Take the lead on design related risk assessments.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant Australian and International Standards and applicable Legislation.
  • Ensure all designs are safe for manufacturing installation operations and maintenance personnel.

About You

The successful applicant will ideally possess the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in drafting or an electrical trade qualification will be regarded advantageously; or
  • Technical knowledge of heavy diesel machinery or skilled in the drafting workflow.
  • Experience in 2D or 3D design tools.
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
  • Welldeveloped communication skills and the ability to make clear and precise decisions.
  • Possess high level of motivation initiative and time management skills.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software or equivalent will be highly regarded.
