The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Athens on a fixedterm basis to cover a maternity leave. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a global leader in payment services while gaining valuable experience in international financial operations.
DaytoDay Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with all Worldline group policies procedures and requirements
Completes monthly balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time
Enforces internal control policies and procedures across financial operations
Oversees the timely preparation review and approval of monthly bank account and cash reconciliations
Ensures proper recording and classification of accounting events according to International Financial Reporting Standards and Tax Accounting
Oversees booking and payment processes
Prepares tax submissions including VAT CIT withholding tax and other relevant filings
Collaborates with internal and external auditors during statutory and regulatory audit preparations
Prepares accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Who Are We Looking For
We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change step up and show whats next people with passion cando attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:
45 years of experience in accounting and tax matters
Bachelors Degree in Accounting; additional relevant postgraduate studies are a plus
Proficient use of English (both verbal and written)
Strong MS Office skills especially Excel
Teamoriented mindset with good leadership potential
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience is preferred)
Class Accountant certification is advantageous
