For more information on the work of our Ministry please visit: Energy Transition Division leads policy development for Albertas energy transition tackling economic and policy barriers to new energy investments. The division strategically engages with stakeholders including the energy and minerals industry the Federal Government and other provinces to support Albertas goal of reducing emissions and achieving netzero by 2050. Key responsibilities include providing secretariat and strategic support to negotiation tables subtables and internal committees facilitating discussions on policy priorities and timelines to achieve a carbonneutral economy and economic prosperity by 2050. The division is also responsible for nuclear policy and implementing the critical minerals strategy and action plan.
The Business Relationships and Implementation (BRI) branch is central to Albertas Energy transition fostering relationships with businesses to encourage investment in emerging energy technologies and facilitate the implementation of innovative solutions that drive economic growth and environmental sustainability. BRI collaborates with various government departments and agencies to establish the necessary conditions for the advancement and commercialization of these new technologies and energy solutions.
The Business Relationships and Implementation (BRI) team is currently seeking an agile and driven Senior Business Analyst to manage and support key initiatives advancing policy development around emerging resources including critical minerals and nuclear leveraging expert level knowledge of business intelligence and analysis.
Reporting to the Manager Business Relationships and Implementation the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the following:
To be effective the Senior Business Analyst must employ a broad systems thinking and problemsolving perspective to answering questions and briefing leadership about Albertas changing energy community. Functioning as part of a highly collaborative and small team this position will provide support to a variety of activities applying their knowledge of data analysis and communication techniques.

Required:
University graduation in a related field such as Data Analytics Computer Science Engineering Economics Business Law International relations Public Administration Public Policy Environmental Science etc. plus a minimum of four 4 years of progressively responsible related experience. Related experience may include in data base management data visualization and reporting research and analysis stakeholder engagement technical writing and briefing issues analysis and solution development and project management.
