Job Description

Position Title: Maintenance Planner and Scheduler

Position Type: Regular FullTime

Position Location: Springs

Grade:Grade 03

Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

To plan coordinate and schedule all maintenance activities (preventive corrective and shutdown) to ensure the continuous operation of manufacturing equipment and utilities with minimal disruption optimizing equipment reliability and plant uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop maintain and improve preventive maintenance schedules for all critical assets.
  • Coordinate and schedule daily weekly and monthly maintenance tasks in collaboration with production and maintenance teams.
  • Create and manage work orders and job cards using CMMS (e.g. SAP).
  • Prepare and issue maintenance schedules ensuring resource availability (technicians tools parts permits).
  • Prioritize work orders based on urgency safety and production requirements.
  • Monitor compliance to planned schedules and update accordingly.
  • Ensure maintenance KPIs are tracked and reported (e.g. MTTR MTBF adherence to schedule).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and history of equipment breakdowns and interventions.
  • Liaise with procurement/stores for timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in annual shutdown planning and .
  • Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assigning schedules on SAP system

  • Participating in audits
  • Engineering Board Engineering reports update on the board
  • Adherence to work order schedules M
  • Creating and loading new schedules on the SAP CMMS
  • Altering old schedules on the SAP CMMS
  • Notification turnover
  • Schedule backlog report
  • Artisan utilization report
  • Shift job cards and schedule feedback archive
  • Shutdown involvement supervising safety permits issuing shutdown coordinating & update progress meetings
  • Request different user (New and additional) access for SAP on GRC
  • Adding removing equipment on SAP hierarchy
  • Coordinating the post shutdown meetings documenting and planning all actions

Requirements:

Education & Qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 35 years experience in maintenance planning/scheduling in an FMCG or fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Handson experience in working with plant machinery and utilities.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities under pressure.
  • Good understanding of maintenance workflow and job estimation.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel Project).
  • Analytical mindset and problemsolving skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.
