As part of the RC135 based Airseeker/Rivet Joint programme we deliver strategic and tactical intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capability. We provide comprehensive carriage release and interfacing solutions to integrate weapons and stores onto crewed and uncrewed air platforms.
The Electrical engineer to support electronic development within the design electronic team in an electro/mechanical design environment to generate conceptual solutions and design proposals.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Ability to develop electronic concepts based on abstract schemes and/or customer specifications whilst considering the interaction with system and other design requirements.
- Determines the design approaches and parameters. Analyses electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Develop block diagrams and interface control documentation.
- Analyses equipment to establish operating data conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
- Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications reliability and operational characteristics that may impact system performance and or sustainability.
- Participate in and conduct design reviews on behalf of the company and present technical briefings as required.
- Ability to assess vendor capability to support development.
- Liaise with manufacturers and production engineering department.
What youll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Bachelors degree in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or minimum of 6 years in electrical design.
Essential:
- Electronic design; generate schematics to meet design requirements from first principles
- Good understanding and appreciation of analogue electronic discipline.
- Understanding of electronic component properties and selection criteria for application.
- Manufacturing methods suitable for the design intent. e.g. IPC standards
- Ability to write test procedures to support test activities to prove compliance
Desirable:
- Experience of using Altium (for schematic capture and PCB layout)
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems; understanding of implementation of solenoids and their control systems.
- Hands on experience with electrical tools
- EMC/EMI awareness
- Review vendor capability to support development.
- Use high level programming language to configure programmable logic devices.
- Some practical use of CAD applications.
- Understanding of the process for equipment Certificate of Design release in accordance with DAOEs and MAA regulatory requirements.
