Position Description
The Department of Engineering invites applications for a ninemonth twoyear limited term appointment as a Laboratory Instructor. The initial term of the appointment is from August 11 2025 to May 15 2026. The appointment is full time 40 hours per week. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the Autodesk software especially AutoCAD Instron materials testing equipment fluids and thermodynamics experimental setups and other engineering instrumentation. Experience with computer programming (Python C/C) and with technical writing is also an asset. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering or in Science. The Department is seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to StFXs priorities of equity diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated ability in attracting underrepresented groups of students to the program is an asset.
Under the guidance of the faculty members in charge of the courses the lab instructor prepares supervises and grades first year and second year student laboratories and problem sessions. Responsibilities also include maintaining the department computer lab as well as duties assigned by the Department Chair.
