Job Description

Th is position is covered under the CUPE collective agreement and the rate of pay is $16.55/hour (minimum wage.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Accounting and the Manager of Payroll Services the Summer Student will provide support to a wide range of administrative functions within the Business Department including: Accounting School Support Payroll Purchasing and Administrative Services. This individual will have exposure to a variety of both operational and special project tasks across the various functional departments.

Hours of work: 8:00 am 4:00 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch.

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of a secondary school diploma and a current student or recent graduate from a college or university program. Preference may be given to students in Business Finance Accounting Payroll Clerical or similar programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel Word or similar software is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a computerized office environment is preferred.

Skills Required:

    • Possess strong analytical organizational problem solving and data entry skills is attentive to detail and is able to work to deadlines and objectives
    • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating adaptability flexibility professionalism taking initiative and assuming responsibility with a focus on quality and customer service
    • Ability to work as an effective member of a team and/or the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Welldeveloped verbal communication skills
    • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral communication skills using tact responsiveness and diplomacy with coworkers public and other stakeholders
    • Demonstrated ability to respect the confidentiality of information
