Who we are looking for
We are growing and looking for a new or recent graduate to join us as Junior Tunnel Engineer /EIT in Mississauga or Markham ON. You will play a key role in a wide variety of tunnel engineering projects. GHD has several large diameter tunnelling projects on going including the Yonge North Subway Extension Scarborough Subway Extension Ontario Line South Sepulveda Transit Corridor and Sydney Metro West project.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Assisting with project work within GHDs Rail and Transportation and Water business and support other tunnelling projects across Canada or internationally as opportunities present.
- Assisting in responding to technical and administrative tasks associated with the development of tunnels and stations.
- Carrying out analysis as directed by senior members of the team for tunnel liners and shaft/tunnel design using PLAXIS FLAC Rocscience etc.
What you will bring to the team:
- University graduate with degree in geotechnical geological or civil engineering (Master or PhD Degree in Tunnel/Geotechnical Engineering will be an asset)
- Capability in working within tunnel design or construction teams is an asset
- Experience in design of tunnels in soft ground and transit underground support of structure will be an asset
- Knowledge of shaft & shoring design will be an asset
- Experience in various industry standard geotechnical softwares would be an asset (PLAXIS FLAC Rocscience etc.
- Familiar with tunnelling & shaft construction logistics & equipment & methodology selection would be an asset
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
- Keen interest in infrastructure and underground structure design
- Excellent problemsolving multitasking organizational and team work skills
- Professional status desirable e.g. or working towards it
- Valid Ontario Drivers License (G)
