APPRENTICE 4TH YEAR
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Under directive supervision with limited latitude for planning or laying out of working details must know understand and be willing and able to apply all
applicable Company construction specifications in order to perform high and low voltage line work involved in the construction and maintenance of
electric transmission underground and distribution dead or energized conductors structures and equipment and be qualified to do the following and
related work as assigned:
1. Use hot line tools.
2. Work on all types of conductors.
3. Install all types of transformer installations make tap changes and install primary metering equipment.
4. Locate trouble and restore service on all classes of lines substations sectionalizing equipment etc.
5. Make underground and submarine cable installations including the making of joints and installation of potheads.
6. Install pole type regulators and transformers to boost or buck line voltage.
7. Phase and check rotation in circuits direct and with potential transformers.
8. Make field tests of distribution transformers.
9. Check for ground faults on circuits or equipment.
10. Erect and maintain steel towers and substations.
11. Direct work of assistants instruct and train other employees.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be willing and able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Apprentice 4th Year 4years demonstrated linework experience required
As a condition of employment this position requires a preemployment Fitness for Duty exam.
