Job Description Summary
The Department of Linguistics at Oakland University seeks a oneyear visiting Assistant Professor for theacademic year. We are looking for a theoretical linguist with a specialty in syntactic theory to teach courses in syntax on both the undergraduate and graduate (MA) levels. The successful candidate will also teach introductory courses in linguistics and a secondary area of specialization which is otherwise open. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Review of applications will begin on 4/15 and continue until the position is filled. While this is a oneyear position please note that we will be recruiting for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor in the same speciality in Fall 2019 (for an appointment starting in Fall 2020. The successful applicant for thevisiting position would be most welcome to also apply for the tenuretrack position.
Minimum Qualifications
The Ph.D is required at the time of appointment.
