As a Senior Cable Jointer you will lead Telecommunications personnel in the onsite installation programmed maintenance and repair of Copper Optical Fibre Cable and associated cable infrastructure to ensure the safe and effective operation of the rail network.
Your opportunity
This position is based at Sunshine Depot however some travel and occasional weekend work may be required at times to meet the business needs. The roster will encompass a 9day fortnight and a one in four week standby roster to attend after hours/weekend faults as required.
Youll be responsible for:
- Lead the onsite installation maintenance and repair of the cabling systems and equipment in accordance with predefined work programs to ensure the safe and effective operation of the cable network
- Implement coordinate and manage worksite safe working protection in accordance with Queensland Rail Standards
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and safety of cable infrastructure.
- Collaborate with a team of railway professionals to carry out projects efficiently andeffectively.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe workingenvironment.
This role will be ideal for people who:
- Previous experience in Copper and Optical Fibre cable jointing ideally within the railway industry
- Experience in a leader role
- Hold a Certificate 3 in Telecommunications and an ACMA Open Cablers Registration
- Hold a current Drivers Licence
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings andspecifications.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
