Job Description
Position Summary
Harness is seeking a visionary and handson Director of Product Design to lead our design team in shaping the future of our platform. This role demands a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of a matrixed organization driving crossfunctional collaboration to deliver exceptional user experiences. As a leader you will be instrumental in guiding design initiatives and mentoring designers to achieve their full potential.
About the Role
- Collaborate with product engineering and leadership teams to deliver intuitive scalable interfaces that help our customers modernize their software delivery processes and ship better software faster.
- Build and scale a team of designers growing their skills and careers while fostering a highperformance customerobsessed team culture
- Inspire and motivate the team to do their best work while creating a clear design vision that aligns with Harness goals
- Advocate for design excellence at every stage of the product lifecycle balancing speed quality and bold experimentation
- Redefine bestinclass software design and development processes
About You
- Several years of experience leading highcaliber design teams. Experience designing for developer tooling / cloud software / enterprise software is strongly preferred
- Excellent visual UI and interaction skills
- Experience designing interactive applications
- Experience with design tools such as Figma
- Excel at balancing detailoriented design with bigpicture strategy
- Relentless in delivering customerfocused experiences combining user insights with business goals to drive meaningful outcomes
- Thrive in crossfunctional collaboration aligning design efforts with Product Engineering and Leadership stakeholders
- Exceptional communication skills using storytelling to clarify complex problems and inspire teams
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding the right balance between quality speed and experimentation
