PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The International Tax Team is part of SAPs Global Tax Function and is responsible for managing taxrelated matters across different regions in EMEA/MEE APAC and LATAM.

The regional EMEA/MEE Team is looking for a Senior Tax Specialist with focus for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Within the EMEA/MEE team we established a functional setup which consists of a Direct Tax & Deal Support Team and an Indirect Tax Team. You will be part of a crossfunctional collaborative working approach and will gain detailed local and regional tax and business knowledge by working closely with your colleagues in a hybrid work environment.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The Senior Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing/supporting any tax topics in the Middle East and North Africa especially with focus on the following tasks:

  • Ensure that the legal entities meet internal and external compliance requirements (Corporate Income Tax Value Added Tax Tax Accounting Withholding Tax Transfer Pricing)
  • Actively manage and provide support in tax audits and litigations
  • Manage communication/negotiations with tax authorities auditors and external tax advisors ensuring effective communication and collaboration incl. managing of external budgets
  • Collaborate with Global Tax Team members to identify plan and execute opportunities for tax planning and tax optimization
  • Manage and ensure proper implementation of tax law changes incl. the coordination with IT and key business stakeholders
  • Oversee transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance with intercompany transactions

  • Transformation of manual compliance in automated processes and identify process improvements on local and regional level (both for direct taxes and indirect taxes)
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments on taxrelated matters including tax implications of business decisions and transactions ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and building good business relations with key stakeholder

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

  • University degree (or equivalent) in tax business studies economics finance or a related field
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team player with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively across countries and departments
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations in the region ideally with focus on at least one of the following countries: SaudiArabia United Arab Emirates and/or Egypt
  • Strong preference to work in technical/softwaredriven processes (SAP ERP)
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively prioritize deadlines and communicate progress across teams
  • Proficient in English and Arabic (both written and spoken)
