Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description Summary

Provides direction and engineering support for production testing and maintenance of a manufacturing engineering support to shop floor. Tests manufactured products to maintain quality. Participates in refinement of engineering systems and or coordinates the resolution of complex technical issues on the assembly line and in the manufacturing technical design development and process equipment testing for assigned products. Assists in the preparation of proposals on products for processes to eliminate defects. Provides continuous improvement to manufacturing process and product designs.

Job Description

Develops manufacturing equipment purchase proposals by studying manufacturing plans and commitments; evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.
Recommends new manufacturing equipment by identifying vendors and operating equipment including control devices; evaluating equipment capabilities and service history; evaluating vendor service and support.
Completes equipment cost projections by analyzing investment return and savings.
Monitors equipment installations by advising crews.
Meets production requirements by designing equipment modifications.
Prepares equipment operators by conducting training; providing reference and support resources.
Maintains process integrity by developing and updating policies procedures methods and guidelines.
Maintains equipment records by filing documents; updating equipment database.
Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
Contributes to engineering and organization success by welcoming related different and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering
  • 5 years of experience within Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in process design manufacturing or product engineering preferred.
  • Experience using CAD and CAM software
  • Strong technical writing skills and communication skills
  • Independently manage engineering projects and resources associated with manufacturing engineering
