Job Description
The Department of Modern Languages and the Department of English at St. Francis Xavier University invite applications for a 9month limitedterm position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 15 2025. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.
We seek a dynamic and versatile scholar with demonstrated expertise in both French and English. The successful candidate will hold a PhD (completed by the start of the appointment) in a field related to French or Francophone Studies possess native or nearnative fluency in both French and English and have a strong record of teaching French as a second language and English Literature courses at the undergraduate level.
The teaching load for this position is six courses over two terms:
- Four courses in French (mostly language courses)
- Two courses in English Literature with expertise in Modernism
