Job Description:

L3Harris MMG Division is seeking for a Mass Properties Engineer for our onsite facility located in Waco TX. We offer competitive benefits and a generous relocation package for those who qualify.

The Senior Specialist Mass Properties Engineer will be an integral member of the overall Flight Sciences team. He/she will be involved in the conduct of mass properties analyses related to aircraft modification programs. Individual will function as the Lead W&B Engineer on assigned projects and will prepare detailed analyses documenting the impact of modifications on overall aircraft mass properties characteristics. Individual may be responsible for guiding and directing other analysts supporting those assigned projects. He/she will prepare thorough wellwritten documentation reports and other forms of written communication in a timely efficient and effective manner. Will participate in and will represent the Mass Properties Group on program teams internal meetings and customer briefings. He/she may also support other engineers in their conduct of analyses including assisting with test events weighing parts recording data etc.

This individual will frequently interact with numerous other departments in carrying out assigned duties. He/she will be involved in the daytoday support of the aircraft Weight & Balance data/logbooks including participation in and updates for aircraft inventories modifications and weighings. Sets the highest ethical standards. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to prioritize organize and effectively track a variety of assignments.
  • Ability to work with and interact with other functional engineering disciplines flight line production and quality.
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Essential physical requirements include ability to: assist with twoperson lift; work in narrow spaces; bend/kneel/lift/push/pull; use ladders; work in hot & cold environments.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary.
  • Must be able to work any shift weekends and overtime as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degreein Engineering or Engineering Technology Math or Physics and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 4 years of experience with aircraft weight and balance
  • Must be able to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experienced with any of various design software packages e.g. AutoCAD Creo3 (ProE) and WindChill.
  • Experienced with AWBS Automated Weight and Balance System.
  • A&P License is a plus; prior experience in aircraft modifications is a plus.
