HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER
The HRBP is a key partner to the business leaders within their client group focused on developing leadership driving engagement and retention leading initiatives that lead to elevating employee experience satisfaction and success within a dynamic and engaged culture aligned with Syntaxs mission and strategic goals.
As a Human Resources Business Partner you will report to the Director of People and Culture and serve as a member of Syntaxs People team. This is a strategic and handsonrole where you are the connection between the Centres of Excellence (COEs) and business lines to address talent management talent development employee engagement and retention and HR compliance.
As an integral member of Syntaxs People team you will lean into and support a culture defined by meaningful work ample fun deep employee engagement and strong inclusive leadership ensure Syntax will outperform peers as an employer of choice.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to the following:
Business partner
- Partner with business unit leaders and the People team COEs to ensure continuous communication and connectivity between the People function and the business.
- Administer effective HR programs with a focus on talent management talent development employee engagement labour relations and HR compliance.
- Provide subject matter expertise across department and functional lines in HR related projects and programs.
Employee engagement & employee relations
- Demonstrate continuous knowledge in updated laws and regulations of HR programs and contribute to the design of procedures and forms for policy implementation.
- Manages the Employee Engagement actions with their client groups
- Employee point of contact for all HR support with information requests and data updates.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of new hires transfers promotions terminations and all other personnel changes into HR systems.
- Conduct exist interview and communicate important exit information to employees in advance of their last day. Ensure final pay is prepared accurately and in accordance with regulations.
- Assist the Finance department with payroll and benefitrelated events as required.
- Uphold the companys core values and behaviours with the Code of Conduct
- Effectively manage claims (health and safety short/longterm disability etc. with the providers and government entities.
- In partnership with the Global Talent Acquisition team support regional recruiting activities including immigration interviewing and onboarding
- Provide solutions to complex employee issues
- Responsible for the investigation and resolution of employee relations matters.
- Responsible for maintaining all employee documentation and information respecting privacy laws.
- Provides guidance to client group on DE&I programming for a diverse and inclusive culture at Syntax
Coaching and development
- Partner with Managers to coach them on employment legislations with their activities and to facilitate training and leadership development.
- Coaches leadership on performance gaps providing guidance towards appropriate learning
- Runs the Talent Mapping process with the assigned client group identifying High Potential employees for further development
- Identifies talent that are at risk of leaving and creates retention plans with the Total Rewards and Talent Development COEs.
- Duties may be assigned or modified at any time to meet the needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- You have demonstrated strong Human Resources expertise across several HR functions and drove HR leadership and functional excellence.
- A skilled coach able to develop leaders
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Human Resource Management Psychology or related field required; experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience with emphasis in supporting a technology workforce.
- Demonstrated Business Acumen and leadership ability with HR analysis and decision support.
- Current HR knowledge of legal regulations and practices.

- Dmontrer une connaissance continue des lois et rglements et mettre jour les programmes RH et contribuer la conception de procdures et de formulaires pour la mise en uvre des politiques.
- Grer lengagement des employs avec leurs groupes clients.
- Point de contact des employs pour tout le soutien RH avec les demandes dinformation et les mises jour de donnes.
- Assurer lentre de donnes prcise et en temps opportun des nouvelles recrues des transferts promotions rsiliations et tous les autres changements de personnel dans les systmes RH.
- Conduire des rencontres de dpart et communiquer les informations importantes aux employs avant leur dernier jour. Assurer que le paiement final est prpar avec prcision et conformment aux rglements.
- Aider le dpartement des Finances avec les vnements lis la paie et aux prestations si ncessaire.

- Responsable de linvestigation et de la rsolution des questions de relations avec les employs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPRIENCE:

- Diplme en Administration des Affaires Gestion des Ressources Humaines Psychologie ou domaine connexe requis; lexprience peut tre substitue un diplme
- Plus de 5 ans dexprience progressive en Ressources Humaines avec un accent sur le soutien une mainduvre technologique.
- Capacit dmontre comprendre les affaires et diriger avec une analyse RH et un soutien dcisionnel.
- Connaissance actuelle des rglementations lgales et des pratiques RH.
