The parttime partial year Interpretation/Translation Assistant will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate support for ICAs feeforservice interpretation and translation program through a centralized cloudbased platform. This role ensures the timely coordination of interpretation and translation requests provides customer service to internal and external customers supports data tracking and contractor communication and helps maintain service quality and efficiency. Serves all individuals including BIPOC LGBTQIA2 and those with diverse abilities. Reports to the Social Enterprise Coordinator.
What you will bring to the role:
Minimum Grade 12 or diploma in administration or related discipline (business
administration office management/administration) or combination of education training and experience.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset and strong business acumen within the ability to identify assess and operationalize opportunities for sustainable revenue generation within a nonprofit context.
Proven ability to effectively navigate and utilize IT systems software and hardware to streamline workflows troubleshoot issues and enhance productivity backed by demonstrated experience or training.
Experience within high volume interpretation/translation transactions.
Three years work experience within social services nonprofit and/or multicultural
environment.
Proven ability to effectively navigate and utilize IT systems software and hardware to streamline workflows troubleshoot issues and enhance productivity backed by demonstrated experience or training.
Strong technical proficiency in leveraging workplace technology to improve efficiency collaborate with teams and adapt to emerging tools and methodologies to serve clients effectively and on time.
Essential skills:
o Internet research and navigation
o Demonstrable use of MS Office products including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Teams SharePoint and any other productivity software that supports the automation of processes and workflows.
o Basic graphic design (create posters and social media posts)
o Social media management (understanding of Facebook Instagram LinkedIn Twitter)
o Basic project management and team communication tools (Google Drive MS Teams One Drive Zoom)
o Database management (iCare CRM OCMS CARMIS)
o Understanding of best practices of cybersecurity for data protection phishing prevention and secure system use.
o Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence technology cloud computing and cybersecurity (ChatGPT)
o Problem solving techniques
Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Experience in using tools like Excel (advanced functions pivot tables) CRM queries or Power BI to analyze data and generate reports.
o Automation & Workflow Optimization: Familiarity with macros scripting (e.g. VBA Python) or automation tools like Power Automate to improve efficiency.
Experience working with persons from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds is preferred.
Experience working with immigrants and refugees and understanding of immigration and refugee issues.
Proficiency in a settlement and/or resettlement language preferred.
Occasional travel to locations in other parts of British Columbia and/or Canada for purposes like professional development networking or conferences may also be required.
Some work outside of regular office hours including evenings and weekends will be required. Flextime schedules will be made to accommodate nonregular work hours.
ICA compensates for overtime hours with time in lieu.
A passion for helping others and a positive mindset.
As a condition of hire a current clear criminal record check including vulnerable populations check and proof of WHMIS training is required.
Additional assets we value:
Indigenous cultural competencies and/or lived experience with Indigenous communities welcomed.
A valid BC drivers license and access to a car would be an asset.

Contract duration: until November 30 2025.
Compensation and hours: This position starts at $27.61 per hour working a maximum of 14 hours per week and requires union membership.
