Chemours is seeking a Turnaround manager to join our growing Operations team. This position will be available at our La Porte Tx location and report directly to the Unit Manager.
The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
The primary responsibility of the Turnaround Manager is to lead and manage turnaround (TA) activities at the La Porte Chemours Plant. This role must work closely with the Business Line to lead the turnaround process from scope definition through the startup of the production unit.
Works with the TASC (Turnaround Steering Committee) to establish turnaround goals and measurements of success
Monitors TAR Core Team progress against milestones report status to the TASC and maintains compliance records
Actively engages team in utilization of Best Practice tools throughout all phases of the event from preplanning TAR and through post TAR activities
Stewards teams TAR Best Practice requirements and incident reporting validates that all responsibilities are met and develops and implements improvement plans
Involved in contractor selection and evaluation of contract
Develops TAR updates at the site level weekly stewardship packages at MLT (Management Leadership Team) reviews and weekly HQ (Headquarters) package
Develops and presents TAR kickoff meetings
Opportunity to lead Work Management Process group to develop improvement plans for daily scheduling and coordinating efforts.
The following is required for this role:
High School Diploma GED equivalent or military related experience AND 3 5 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
3 years experience scheduling daily maintenance activities and/or turnarounds
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel; ability to quickly learn new systems
The following is preferred for this role:
Previous experience with High hazard/chemical manufacturing environments
Proficient in scheduling and planning software such as SAPPM and Primavera P6 (highly preferred)
