St Louis School in Milan is a private international school that caters for 1750 children from the ages of 2 to 18. The Early Years the Primary School and the Middle School offer a curriculum based on the British National Curriculum at the Colonna and Caviglia Campuses. Middle School ends in Year 9 and leads into the IGCSE and IBDP examinations in the High School. The High School has an exceptional average IBDP score . We are currently seeking to hire an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher for our Colonna Campus who is fully qualified to work with students from Years 7 to 9. The ideal candidate will be an educator who can adapt quickly to a new and exciting learning environment demonstrating strong subject knowledge a passion for English literature and language and the ability to foster critical thinking and analytical skills. We seek a teacher who can create an engaging and intellectually stimulating classroom guiding students through literary analysis creative writing and effective communication.
A strong commitment to purposeful learning and teaching collaborative planning and open communication is essential. We pride ourselves on the dedication and professionalism of our staff and applicants must be willing to be active flexible participants in a hardworking team of teachers. Proven experience within an international bilingual or multilingual context would also be beneficial.
A Bachelors Degree in English Literature Linguistics or a related field plus a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
Established experience in teaching English at the Middle School level (Years 79. No NQTs please.
A deep understanding of the UK National Curriculum and experience in preparing students for IGCSE and IBDP English.
Strong knowledge of literary analysis creative writing techniques and language development.
Be an English firstlanguage user with excellent oral and written communication skills.
A proven ability to engage and inspire students of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
A collaborative and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
A willingness to be actively involved in extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes.
The ability to create a stimulating and effective learning environment where students develop a passion for English language and literature.
A valid visa that enables you to work in Italy would be an advantage.
A minimum of two years teaching experience.
The ability to teach other humanities subjects is an added advantage.
