Job Description

Ventia is one of the largest providers of Defence Maintenance Contractors in Australia. We have over 20 years experience delivering support to ADF.

The Ventia Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) is seeking a reliable Trades Assistant with Heavy Vehicle workshop experience to join our RAAF Edinburgh team on a fulltime permanent capacity with good work life balance on offer.

The hourly pay rate is $37.71 Super

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist Tradesmen within a range of maintenance activities including preventative maintenance installations and planned works. Please note that heavy vehicle tyre repair/ replacement tasks form a regular part of a DMC Trades Assistant.
  • Assist trades teams management and support personnel in the daytoday operations of a modern complex ADF maintenance environment
  • Participate in forwardrepair activities into ADF units and training areas where required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment (including safety equipment); plant items motor vehicles and various other industrial plant items.
  • Ensure that all technical safety procedures and contract specific requirements are followed.
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by management staff.


About you:

  • Previous proven experience as a Trades Assistant in a heavy vehicle environment (Essential)
  • Ability to perform manual tasks in a variety of operational environments (Essential)
  • Willingness to work under the direction of multiple stakeholders (Essential)
  • A current Australian Drivers Licence (Essential)
  • Previous experience in automotive tyre fitting (Highly desirable)
  • Previous experience in automotive spray painting (Highly desirable)
