Job Description
The Progressive Cardiac Care Unit at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 32bed unit consisting of 20 telemetry and 12 ICU stepdown beds. The RN ares for highly acute cardiac medicine patients with diagnoses such as acute MI cardiomyopathy dysrhythmia and heart failure. Treatments are primarily medical but frequently include intervention in the Cardiac Cath & Electrophysiology lab including stent placement ablation PPM/AICD implantation or TAVR.
Due to the chronicity of cardiac disease the Registered Nurse will have the opportunity to form strong positive relationships due to the extended stays of many patients and their families. This unit is resourced a fulltime monitor watch tech to assist in early detection of EKG changes and to alert staff of lethal rhythms. Staff on the floor will gain experience with vasoactive drip titration SwannGanz catheters LVADs phlebotomy & IV insertion ACLS and palliative care.

Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
- 3 years recent acute care PCCU experience w/progressive advancement
- Active BLS via AHA American Red Cross or Military Training Network at time of hire
- Active Maryland RN or Compact License at time of hire

Salary Range: Minimum$43.93/hour Maximum$68.09/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
