The Miami Marlins Foundation makes an impact by creating opportunities for youth to stay active achieve academic success and build leadership skills. Our wellness programs address barriers that students face with academic success food insecurity healthy eating habits and fitness. In the area of empowerment we focus on college scholarships leadership development and providing educational resources to students and teachers. Our youth baseball & softball programs promote learning baseball and softball fundamentals and support social and emotional learning that builds champions on and off the field.

Requirements
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work nights/weekends.
Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
Experience & knowledge of working with youth baseball and/or softball programs preferred.
Experience working with youth recreation programs preferred.
Additionally the Coach Across America AmeriCorps Coach will:
Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills knowledge and techniques through sport using lessons learned at Coach Across Americabest in class training events.
Perform data collection activities as directed by your Coach Across America Program Manager.
Act as a role model gaining the respect and trust of the community and youth served.
Coach Across America AmeriCorps Coaches must complete the following requirements to ensure successful completion of the AmeriCorps program:
Completion of the minimum required hours of service and training by last day of coach contract.
Attendance at the Coach Across America Coach orientation.
Completion of biweekly timesheets.
Attendance at days of community service.
Attend/participate in Coach Across America trainings meetings and special initiatives.
Attend Coach Training Institute (date to be announced by Program Manager).
Uniform Policy:
Coaches must wear Coach Across America branded tshirts provided by Coach Across America Sports with AmeriCorps logo when
coaching and at program sessions and events.
Placement at a Host Site You will be assigned to a community organization school or nonprofit where youll work directly with youth in a structured sports program.
Coach Training & Development Youll receive ongoing training through MyQuest covering topics like sportsbased youth development (SBYD) traumasensitive coaching and leadership skills.
Commitment & Hours Coaches commit to a specific number of service hours (typically 450 900 or 1700 hours) over the course of their term.
Stipend & Education Award As part of the program youll receive a stipend during your service and may be eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion.
