Were now looking for aProduction Assistant 6 month fixedterm contract) to support the smooth and timely delivery of highquality editorial content across the Guardians digital platforms. Youll be part of a crucial team preparing our content for publication and could be working on every kind of story from global politics to climate change and international conflicts to popular culture tech advances and humaninterest.

About the Role

As a Production Assistant youll help maintain the Guardians high editorial technical and design standards across our global digital platforms. Working as part of a 24/7 international team youll:

  • Respond to production requests and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Edit front pages and assist with newsletters.
  • Support desks globally with digital best practices and breaking news production.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve editorial tools.
  • Liaise with legal editorial and commercial teams to process corrections manage tagging and ensure archival integrity.
  • Deliver training and maintain user documentation.
  • This is a hybrid role based in our London office working a 9day fortnight pattern including regular weekend shifts.

About You

  • Journalistic experience in a print or online environment.
  • Understanding and enthusiasm for The Guardians editorial values.
  • Experience of working in a changing and pressurised environment.
  • Knowledge of digital production.
  • Demonstrable enthusiasm for and interest in digital journalism.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Ideally youll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role

Youll have 30 days of annual leave per year (pro rata). Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5 then we will contribute 812 (depending on your age).
