In this role we are seeking a customer obsessed Category Manager to help support the global team in their daily iniatives to deliver program support and to delight our customers.
The Airline Category Manager will be part of a team of Travel & Events supplier and category experts responsible for the effective and ongoing support large travel and event programs. This role will be responsible for activities including airline supplier management initiatives customer loyalty and experience programs internal project support and delivering a customer experience to support the firms business travel program objectives.
Key job responsibilities
Support Amazon Travel & Events supplier spend and program strategies in accordance with business strategies and program goals
Assists the Global Category Leader(s) with customer experience issues impacting the program and preparing resolution recommendations
Enhances the employee experience by supporting value creation projects which may require change management stakeholder alignment and relationship management with global suppliers.
Supports internal teams on sourcing events from requirement building through program implementation
Supports cost and savings analysis which analyze the impact of decisions shows alternative options and decision criteria including cost estimates and supplier recommendations
Participates in the design and development of strategic plans roadmaps budget and resource planning; working closely with leadership to align to broader strategies
Contributes to the creation of white papers strategic plans and business reviews to inform influence decisions and gain agreement from key stakeholders and leadership
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to share and leverage best practices and drive innovation (e.g. finance procurement legal and other business teams)
Assist in implementing new travel tools monitoring adoption and tracking areas of improvement
Assist with travel communications and any travel related marketing activities
Performs market research to discover new suppliers and qualify existing suppliers
Reporting and tracking productivity metrics for the global travel projects

5 years of airline category management experience / travel and meeting supplier management
Ability to travel up to 1520
Proven track record of supporting travel initiatives and programs
Experience with remote team settings
Organizational and analytical skills excellent written and oral communication skills including experience in strategic business discussions that require the ability to form a strong point of view
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
Innovative handson resultsoriented great use of process improvements and ability to meet tight deadlines
Comprehensive understanding of the travel and meeting industry ecosystem
Experience with travel and meeting supply base travel technologies and meetings management systems
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and project management tools
