Technology is the foundation of our work and the work of every county employee. Be a part of our team at the information technology department to help our employees work smarter faster and better. We are seeking a student to participate in a parttime internship as a IT security operations intern. The intern in this position will participate in realworld incidentresponse through learning and applyrelevant security and Human Resources policies and controls.This position requires a level 3 security check as a requirement for employment.

Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come onsite an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings trainings or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. 5 p.m. This internship will start in June 2025 and will last up to one year in duration. This intern will work approximately 20 hours/week.While this position is designated as remote hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.

In this position you will:

Need to have:
  • Must be in one of the following:
    • Current enrollment for the academic school year ofin a bachelors or masters degree program in IT cybersecurity computer science information assurance or another related field.
    • Recent graduate (within 6 months from graduation)in a bachelors or masters degree program inIT cybersecurity computer science information assurance or another closely related field.
  • Access to reliable internet access and selfsupport remote office space.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with cybersecurity.
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as Secuirty and CySA
  • Ability to:
    • Follow documented processes.
    • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
