Make an impact at Serco
As a Medical Officer youll make a positive impact by:
- You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards legislation and Defence Policies and Procedures.
- You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
- You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and welling of members pre and post deployments.
- You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO) Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.
- You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.
- You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.
About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defenceready clinical and support staff across 45 onbase locations ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality onsite medical care.
About East Sale
RAAF Base East Sale is located 220km SouthEast of Melbourne in Victorias Gippsland region supporting approximately 700 personnel. First opened as a training base in 1943 and continues to play a major training role for the Airforce. Following World War II in 1947 the Air Force Central Flying School was relocated to East Sale and is home to the famous Roulettes aerobatic display team. East Sale Clinic provides primary medical aviation medical nursing dental pharmaceutical physiotherapy and mental health services along with a 2 bed lowdependency unit. Standard operating hours are generally 08:00 16:30 Monday Thursday and a half day Friday 08:00 13:00.

You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do. You are passionate about providing clinical services and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support delivery of the highest standard of care to patients.
To be successful in this role youll have:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
- Minimum of 2 years fulltime post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or parttime equivalent).
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009 certification.
Please note:
- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You dont need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian onbase and your job stays here even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
