ThePublic WorksDepartment is currently seeking to fill one 1 parttime unbenefited Undergraduate/Graduate Student Intern in theTransportation & Hydraulics Services (THS)DivisionRoads & BridgesSection.
Salary ranges for this classification are:
These salary ranges include an approximate five percent 5 ongoing nonpensionable compensation. Actual salary shall bedeterminedby the final candidates qualifications and experience.
About theTHSDivision Roads & Bridges SectionInternship:
The Roads & Bridges Sectionis responsible fordelivering a wide variety of capital improvement projects including federally funded and FEMA recovery projects.
TheRoads & Bridges intern will be assigned toassistwith the following projects: 10211 BalbachPark Transportation Improvements 10026 Downtown Better Bikeways Hardscape ConversionSTPL54 San Pedro Bollards Improvements 10451 Ocala Avenue Median ImprovementsHSIPSLand 10453 TamienTransportation Improvements.
Graduate Student Intern: Completion of a bachelors degree and current enrollment in a masters degree program from an accredited college or university.
Licenses & Certificates: Possession of a valid drivers license authorizing the operation of a motor vehicle in the State of California may befor some positions.
The ideal candidate willpossessthe following competencies asdemonstratedin past and current employment history. Desirablequalificationsfor this position include:
Enrolled as a Civil Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate/graduate student in an accredited college or university.
Knowledge and ability to use computers and related applications such as Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Adobe Bluebeam andAutoDesksoftwares.
Knowledge and ability to interpret construction drawings specifications andschedules of quantities.
Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relations with others.
Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
