Organization Description
Thunderbird Partnership Foundation is a national nonprofit organization and a leading culturally centred voice on First Nations mental wellness substance use and addictions in Canada. Our mandate is set by three frameworks:
1. Honouring Our Strengths: A Renewed Framework to Address Substance Use Issues Among First Nations in Canada
2. Indigenous Wellness Framework
3. First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum
Our core stakeholders are First Nations communities and the network of First Nations adult and youth treatment centres. To support the mandate Thunderbird has two office locations one based in a First Nations community in southwestern Ontario and the other in the city of London Ontario. This position is based out of the Delaware Nation office near the village of Bothwell.
Your opportunity
The Addictions Program Coordinator is responsible for the effective planning coordination and implementation of the Addictions Management Information System (AMIS).
You will be responsible for the coordination of functions and activities for the client/case management information databases to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities time limitations and funding parameters or other specifications.
You will offer Native Wellness Assessment (NWA) support and training to treatment centres and Indigenous community organizations.

As the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation Addictions Program Coordinator you will
oversee the preliminary planning and development for the pilot solution/application based on the functional and technical requirements for a new client/case management information database that will improve data collection as well as data analysis and reporting for community treatment partners
plan the delivery of the client/case management information databases and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation
support data sharing agreements that extend beyond the current Contribution Agreement data sharing requirements
develop a data governance model that will speak to the needs of the treatment centres of the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program and the National Youth Solvent Abuse Program
engage national and regional stakeholders and government partners in the process of establishing a clear plan for governance of the AMIS database/system
collaborate with the working group to develop a data governance model that meets the needs of the treatment centers of the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program and the National Youth Solvent Abuse Program
consult with experts to support the discussion and process of establishing a data governance model and process including the development of data protection policies and regulations
assist in the implementation of the client/case management information database system to all NNADAP and NYSAP treatment centres
support the implementation of client/case management information databases by providing user training evaluation and refinements of the pilot during the developmental phase
represent the Thunderbird at events as directed by the Research Manager
communicate with community treatment partners and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program
develop and nurture relationships with treatment centers not currently using AMIS
offer Native Wellness Assessment (NWA) support and training to treatment centres and Indigenous community organizations
promote Addictions Management Information System (AMIS) and Native Wellness Assessment (NWA)
support the Research Manager by scheduling meetings providing agenda and minutes and developing reports relevant to the AMIS program and its working group
You bring
a bachelors degree in business administration or relevant field and two 2 years of administrative/coordinator program experience
or
a certificate or diploma in business administration or relevant field and four 4 years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience
Other requirements include
fluency in a First Nations language is a definite asset
knowledge of First Nations traditions and customs including natural healing is a definite asset
diplomacy tact and understanding of others priorities to achieve common goals
strong interpersonal communication skills including relationship and partnership building clear and concise information provision customer service and managing inquiries and complaints
excellent conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to identify and manage emerging issues and risks in relation to service delivery and stakeholder coordination
a high degree of professionalism and flexibility displayed in all aspects of service delivery
reliability quality efficiency and courteousness of services delivered
demonstrated ability to lead small special project teams
valid provincial drivers license
ability to function autonomously and be flexible and adaptable to change
ability to effectively maintain confidentiality and privacy of people supported through appropriate communication and record keeping
