Your next career opportunity
As the Technical Officer Music and Instrumentation youll play a crucial role in supporting the Facultys musical education programmes. Youll oversee our unique instrumentation collection coordinate equipment loans and provide technical support across various operational areas. This position offers you the opportunity to blend your technical expertise with your passion for music contributing to the vibrant educational environment of our Faculty.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Instrumentation Resources: Oversee the Facultys Music Equipment Store and coordinate equipment loans hires and refunds.
  • Provide Technical Support: Respond to technical requests and assist with instrumentation and live performance technologies.
  • Maintain Equipment: Contribute to resource management procurement and maintenance of the Facultys instrumental fleet.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Contribute to risk management and quality assurance in line with University policies and regulations.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a technically proficient individual with broad knowledge of musical instruments and performancebased technologies possessing strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to support diverse educational programmes.

You may also:

  • Have extensive knowledge of musical instrument types and equipment repair processes.
  • Possess experience in operating and troubleshooting AV lighting and sound equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong instructional skills in the use of performancebased technologies.
  • Excel in coordinating complex technical resources across multiple projects.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a strong service orientation.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have a current drivers licence.
