Job Description

$21.59/hour 40 hours/week 52 weeks/year

In compliance with Federal Law all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Working under direct supervision and with moderate difficulty this position is responsible for assisting with providing technical assistance and administrative support to communities and counties throughout the NACOG Region in the development implementation and completion of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) activities. This position is also responsible for handling the income qualification and client ranking process for NACOGs Housing Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts all activities involved in managing applications for Home Rehabilitation Program
  • Determines household eligibility through document review researching public databases income qualifying and ranking applicants
  • Serves as a point of contact for public inquiries screening applicants and providing program information and resource referrals to the public
  • Assists with preparing CDBG grant applications for NACOG communities
  • Contacts regulatory agencies and drafts environmental review records for CDBG projects
  • Drafts bid packages and submits ads for the CDBG contractor procurement process
  • Drafts performance and closeout reports to be submitted to the AZ Dept. of Housing
  • Conducts labor standards monitoring and payroll reviews for CDBG construction projects
  • Develops and maintains CDBG files necessary for documenting program compliance
  • Prepares for CDBG project monitoring by the AZ Dept. of Housing
  • Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study such as planning; and a minimum of one year experience in administration social services or other related fields OR an equivalent combination of education training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Physical Activity: Frequent sitting talking listening feeling and repetitive motion. Occasional standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger use and grasping.

Physical exertion: X Sedentary; Light; Medium; Heavy; Very Heavy. Work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Visual requirements: Close visual acuity for compiling and analyzing data; viewing a computer screen; and reading.

Working conditions: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
