The primary responsibility of this position is the provision of direct service to a caseload where abuse and/or neglect has been identified.
Direct service includes but is not limited to the performance and provision of specific services such as conducting assessments/investigations; case management; placement of children into foster homes; supportive counseling to children and their families; assistance in specialized areas such as home and money management child rearing employment and living arrangements for children and adolescents; and casespecific coordination and advocacy including making referrals to increase effectiveness of services.
The majority of the work is conducted during home visits or in community settings. This position requires travel driving and transportation to and from visits hospitals and other community settings. This position may require working beyond the regular workday to meet the needs of family members.
The employee in this position will participate in county training programs and formal trainings leading to a Caseworker certification for direct service.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Fulltime employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- This position may require working beyond the regular workday to meet the needs of family members.
- Telework: No telework for the first six 6 months of employment. After an employee has completed six 6 months of employment and have regular status there may be opportunities for hybrid work per the program offices hybrid schedule.In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Eddystone PA.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
- A bachelors degree with a social welfare major; or
- A bachelors degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:- PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
