Position Title: Social Services Coordinator

Education and Work Experience:
1. High School Diploma or GED required B.A. degree in Social Services or closely related field preferred but not required; bilingual abilities preferred.
2. Experience in leadership of a Social Service program in a nonprofit setting preferred
3. Four or more years of experience in a Social Work setting preferred
Scope of Position: Oversee Social Services operations of the Gresham Corps to include Food Pantry services and direct client services. Supervise food pantry operations social services staff and volunteers. Develop new social services as needs are identified and funding allows such as Pathway of Hope afterschool programs parenting classes or other family services as assigned. Serve as liaison to the Evening meal program when in session. Network with other agencies in the community within our sphere of operation and take the lead on community engagement and community partnerships within the realm of social services ministries.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and associated software programs).
The ability to operate standard office equipment (business telephone systems copiers) in an efficient manner.
The ability to learn and consistently use a standard database
Valid Oregon driver license pass MVR check and criminal background check

Daily Essential Duties and Responsibilities Family Services:
1. Supervise and oversee Family Services Assistant and other social services team members as assigned; (i.e. CaseManager Driver/Warehouse Assistant and social services volunteers).
2. Provide direct assistance casework to clients including internal referrals material assistance community referrals advocacy and other services as appropriate.
3. Provide crisis support and be able to appropriately refer clients for spiritual counseling and prayer as needed with a willingness to connect them with the Corps Worship Center opportunities or other community of faith for care and support.
4. Familiarize yourself with the services provided by other area service providers. Establish referral contacts at each site and update referral maps used in family services.
5. See that all daily records stats and case records are kept accurate and current for all clients using the assigned databases such as Wellsky and HMIS.
6. Oversee the annual application and administration of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP);
7. Maintain the grant compliance monitoring and tracking spreadsheet for the EFSP grant.
8. Contribute to grant applications as needed and grow your knowledge of grant programs
9. Maintain USDA The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) policies and procedures and coordinate Civil Rights trainings for employees and volunteers as required by the Oregon Food Bank.
10. Maintain an awareness of grant requirements training requirements audits and monitoring visit requirements and coordinate with DHQ and the Corps staff to ensure critical compliance points are met.
11. Maintain Oregon Food Bank Fresh Alliance Retail and Recovery Program.
12. In coordination with the Corps Officers and Divisional Headquarters representatives recruit donations of inkind food for the program.
13. Serve as liaison between the Oregon Food Bank and other donor/partners.
14. Serve as liaison with Multnomah County East County and other local representative offices (in coordination with the relevant DHQ entity and the Corps Officers)
15. Oversee and participate in the food rotation and logistics in warehouse by ensuring the volunteers and Family Services Assistant understand their roles and responsibilities and receive proper training and certifications as may be needed.
16. Recruit community volunteers to assist in the program as needed. Process and maintain appropriate paperwork and files for all volunteers in coordination with the Family Services Assistant the Corps Administrative Assistant and the relevant DHQ entity
17. Ensure the volunteer signin/sign out log is properly maintained
18. Provide oversite of any additional social services or additional warehouse assistants during seasonal surge events and ensure the proper delegation of responsibilities whether staff or volunteer.
19. In coordination with the Corps staff and leadership coordinate seasonal activities and special projects including Christmas Food collection and distribution coordination of the Back to School program and other special events.
20. Coordination of monthly Free food Market
21. Other related duties as assigned by the Corps Officer.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to liftup to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
Must be willing to complete CPR/FirstAid training
Must be able to bend squat twist and stand as these movements are a regular requirement of this position.

Working Conditions:
Inside office in a climatecontrolled environment
Requires daily involvement in sensitive matters which require confidentiality.
Must be able to drive a van or minivan and have a valid Oregon Driver License.
Work in an environment with frequent interruptions multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
