Role Description and Expectations
The Art Supervisor is responsible for generating ideas creating concepts for design and layout materials from draft stage through to finished product with their copy partner; working closely with Creative and Client Service teams to ensure adherence to clients marketing strategies and objectives within specified deadlines. As a people manager the Art Supervisor manages and mentors creatives that report to them and as needed on projects. In this role the Art Supervisor must have an advanced understanding of Klick Health departmental procedures such as routing print production protocols usage rights of stock images for layout as well as other internal procedures and solutions practiced by our creative craft.
Key Accountabilities
- Solid understanding of clients marketplace and can evaluate work in light of current marketing environment commercial awareness
- Ensures the best visualization of the product while maximizing budget limits and understands the various production processes. (CGI Stock etc)Contributes innovative ideas appropriate to the clients marketing strategy that challenge the status quo
- Able to defend strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to input and further explorations
- Participates and contributes in brainstorming sessions with stakeholders across meetings
- Reviews all materials for consistency in layout guidelines and all branding elements
- Works with copy partner to skillfully produce work across all channels that communicate the clients message about the product for both the overall campaign Layouts support copy with innovative visuals using photography illustration and unique use of typography to support strategy
- Followsthrough and communicates with Creative Shared Services to ensure smooth flow of jobs to meet deadlines
- Manages and mentors direct reports; coaches challenges and provides opportunities for growth
- Follows up on set expectations and provides coaching and guidance when standards are not being met
- Develops goals with each direct report and conducts performance reviews and regular 1:1s to provide coaching support career plans and provide learning opportunities
- Maintains current knowledge of the internal creative teams capabilities & freelance talent; recommends those that are best suited to achieving the desired results
- Fosters an environment of diversity and inclusion on the team
- Maintains awareness of budget requirements and limits; alerts Client Service in advance when work exceeds budget and obtain appropriate approvals to follow through
- Develops strong relationships with all cross discipline internal teams
- Has a solid client relationship; actively leads interactions with clients and forges bonds with stakeholders
- Keeps up to date on industry trends and shares knowledge with internal teams
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of product challenges in relation to overall market
- Complete understanding of market trends and marketing briefs
Skills
- Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Exhibits sound judgment and decisive problem solving ability
- Ability to work well within a team setting
- Ability to build client rapport and trust
- Established presentation skillsManagerial skills
- Computer proficiency; solid knowledge of design programs
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Advertising/Visual Communications Graphic Design or related discipline preferred
Experience
- 5 years of experience in marketing/advertising business experience preferred
