Job Description
Door Systems ASSA ABLOY is looking for a (Service) Purchasing Associate in Naperville IL.
This person will be responsible for managingall parts orders for QR and TM for the service department
Responsibilities include:
- Place purchase orders for special order materials for quoted and incomplete service jobs
- Work with inside and outside sales reps to identify and source items
- Quality check job material lists for accuracy before placing orders
- Value shop for best pricing
- Maintain purchase log job status updating material eta etc.
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Maintain vendor contact log
- Work with field technicians on material questions and immediate material needs
- Work with shop to order fabricated items. springs sections operators slats etc.
- Maintain shop fabrication log
- Must be familiarized with warehouse stock materials
- Responsible for all materials to move jobs from opening to schedule ready status in shortest possible time.
Requirements:
- At least 5years of similarexperience in purchasing within the commercialoverhead door industry
- Effective written and oral communications skills
- Knowledge in the use of computer software such as spreadsheet applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel) for data analysis is preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision set priorities and analyze situations for appropriate action
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks prioritize and manage time effectively
- Aptitude for making recommendations based on a companys needs
- Proven project management capabilities strong analytical skills and the ability to develop sound business strategies
- Proven ability to manage change and resources in a fastpaced environment
