Description

We are looking for a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout Design Engineer with experience in power electronics and analog layout to support the development of missioncritical electronic systems for the defense and aerospace sectors. This role plays a vital part in the product lifecycle from concept through production and requires a selfmotivated individual who thrives in a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering environment.

  • Design and layout complex multilayer PCBs based on schematics provided by the Engineering team with a focus on signal integrity power distribution and thermal management.
  • Interface with Electrical Mechanical Quality and Manufacturing teams to ensure that designs meet performance reliability and manufacturability requirements.
  • Interpret military and aerospace specifications and apply IPC Class 3 and MILSTD design rules for highreliability applications.
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using industrystandard EDA tools (Eagle preferred).
  • Maintain and organize component libraries in accordance with internal configuration control and documentation standards.
  • Generate fabrication and assembly documentation (Gerbers drill files pickandplace etc. in compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 quality requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and failure analysis activities.


Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with PCB layout for highreliability analog and power electronics including wide voltage/current ranges and EMI considerations.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC2221 IPC7351 IPCA600/610 and best practices for military/aerospace applications.
  • Working knowledge of EDA software (Eagle Alibre CAD Altium Designer or equivalent).
  • Programming capability in Python and ULP language for Eagle Layout.
  • Solid understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive demeanor and outlook.
  • A creative mind with a desire to suggest improvements and new ideas.

Preferred But Not Required:

  • Experience with controlled impedance routing thermal design for highpower boards thermally conductive boards(TCLAD) RigidFlex PCBs and highvoltage isolation techniques.
  • Prior experience in a DoD aerospace or defense electronics environment.
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems and PLM tools.
