The Division of Financial Institutions ensures Ohioans money is safe by regulating financial institutions and service providers. This includes examining supervising and regulating Ohio chartered banks and credit unions and licensing and regulating nondepository mortgage brokers mortgage loan originators and other consumer lenders. The Divisions Office of Consumer Affairs provides assistance to consumers to help resolve complaints against these institutions and works to provide education to Ohioans regarding financial literacy and other consumer protection topics.

What Youll Do:
- Provides legal advice and counsel to the Divisions Credit Union Section and Bank Section including the Bank Sections Trust and Money Transmission Units.
- Reviews and makes recommendations regarding various types of corporate applications.
- Works with Division staff to ensure that chartered or licensed entities are in compliance with applicable state and federal law.
- When necessary involved in all aspects of enforcement including: evaluating the strength of potential cases making recommendations as to the further development of cases facilitating settlements developing theories of the case and drafting notices of intent and coordinating administrative or civil enforcement actions with and through the Ohio Attorney Generals Office.
- May be called upon to advise Division senior staff on state and federal legal developments and to assist in the development of internal policies and procedures.
- Works with other legal staff and Division Counsel on miscellaneous projects on an asneeded basis.
