We are currently seeking one fulltime contract Digital Marketing and Fundraising Assistant as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program!

Canada Summer Jobs is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) which aims to provide quality summer employment opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

Reporting to the Director Clinical Support Services and working closely with the Fundraising and Events Officer the Digital Marketing and Fundraising Assistant will help increase mental health awareness and raise funds to decrease stigma associated with mental illness and addictions using latest media practices.

Status: 8week contract fulltime 35 hours per week (anticipated contract dates will fall between May 2025 and August 2025; Work hours will generally fall between 8:00 am and 5:00pm. Note this posting is for an active vacancy.

Hourly rate:$18.20

Location:This position is based out of ourHurontario Brampton ON office. Although we operate within a hybrid workplace model staff are required to have onsite and/or community presence as per program and client needs.

What You Will Do

• Produce digital projects materials campaigns and initiatives to drive awareness donations and donor loyalty and engagement
• Create and maintain CMHA Peel Dufferins editorial calendar based on events days etc. and develop an event communication plan.
• Proactively monitor and assess media including social media providing alerts and briefings as needed
• Collect and create online content with input from internal stakeholders
• Create digital material to promote the objectives of signature fundraising and marketing events including Hope in Motion Mental Health Week and thirdparty events in support of CMHA and the cause of mental health
• Compile analytics on social media accounts to share.
• Develop internal story development for We Connect e.g. success stories.
• Assist with Website: review evaluate and redesign where needed
• Assist with online marketing and setting up Google grants

What You Need to Join Our Team:

Participants of Canada Summer Job roles must meet the following requirements:

• Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
• Must be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
• Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Must be able to work all 8 weeks consecutively

Additional Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled or completed postsecondary education in communications marketing media and/or fundraising
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills both in person and over the phone
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team management and clients
• Strong computer skills MS Word Excel Internet Outlook database; online media development and management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach listen build trust and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality. Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence.
• Openness to operate from an antiracist antioppressive 2SLGBTQ affirming and intersectional framework.
• Willingness to learn and apply practical understanding of different elements of diversity such as gender identity/expression race/cultural background religion sexual orientation disability immigration and precarious status family status etc.
• Fluency in a second language including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset.
• Ability to travel within and around Peel Region as required
• A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.
