Job Description

Title: Wound Care Nurse

Various Location(s): Mississauga Halton GTA South Simcoe Dufferin

Part Time / Casual

We are looking for a Wound Care Nurse with advanced and specialized wound care knowledge. Our next Wound Care Nurse will thrive in a culture made for caring where being flexible and possessing strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills will drive the success of their role. We have parttime and casual positions available based out of Mississauga Halton GTA South Simcoe and Dufferin County

What you will be doing:

Our team of healthcare professionals delivers care to thousands of clients each day enabling people to close the gap between their healthcare needs and overall wellbeing caring the way we would care for our own loved ones. Our Wound Care Nurse will:

  • Complete comprehensive wound assessments of for clients in their homes and at our ambulatory clinics.
  • Collaborate with the client family and the interdisciplinary care team to establish and/or update a plan of care that incorporates evidencebased practices.
  • Provide consultation and clinical support to other members of the health care team including recommendations for specialty products.
  • Provide educational support to clients families and other members of the care team regarding wound healing and skin health.
  • Adhering to provincial regulatory body standards and practice guidelines perform safe competent evidencebased nursing care within their scope of practice.

Skills need for success:

  • Hold a certificate for successful completion of a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) program from a recognized educational institution; or
  • Hold a certificate for successful completion of a wound ostomy and continence program (NSWOC) from a recognized educational institution; or
  • Has completed 75 of the NSWOC certificate and has 3 years of experience in a setting with a focus on wound care; or
  • Has successfully completed the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC); or
  • Holds a certificate for successful completion of a Skin and Wellness Associate Nurse (SWAN) program from a recognized educational institution.
  • Has a minimum of 2 years experience working in the community or acute care setting with a focus on wound care is preferred
  • You are a highly energetic and enthusiastic individual who loves to work in a dynamic and fastpaced environment
  • You are highly organized and excel at managing your schedule
  • You have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • You hold current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Currently certified with Standard First Aid & CPR/ AED (Level C)
  • Can possess current Mask Fit test
