Formlabs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer to lead the development and optimization of manufacturing services including scaled additive manufacturing operations equipment refurbishment and preproduction builds & validation campaigns. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency reliability quality and success of 3D printing operations and new business initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing tools & processes quality systems and engineering validation principles along with excellent problemsolving and project management skills. The ability to create spyyetscalable solutions is critical to success in this role.
The Job:
- Design plan and implement the layout and infrastructure for a scalable and efficient operation considering factors such as workflow material handling environmental controls and safety
- Select procure and integrate new 3D printing equipment and supporting technologies
- Establish and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
- Implement monitoring systems and metrics to track performance evaluate capacity & utilization and identify bottlenecks
- Develop equipment & processes to expand operational capabilities and capacity.
- Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to meet stakeholder requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to processes equipment and validation activities
You:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes & principles such as 5S lean material flow safety quality management etc.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in process engineering manufacturing engineering or a related role
- Knowledge of engineering validation principles and methodologies
- Excellent problemsolving analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g. CAD software data analysis tools project
Bonus:
- Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies (e.g. FDM SLA SLS).
- Experience with NPI hardware and/or process development
- Experience in establishing and managing refurbishment programs is a plus
